Heading down towards the San Juan mountain range, just getting out of Gunnison National Forest (I think; hard to remember, a week later)
This is the Blue Mesa reservoir, very pretty place
So many wonderful plants grow in Colorado: sage, thistle, spiny asters, mountain daisies, yarrow, Indian paintbrush
We camped here on the Cimarron River, had the whole campground to ourselves.
Coming into Ouray, little town that sits in between big mountains
Ouray, spent the day here
On a back road up behind Ouray, leads to a working mine
This rope was hanging from a rock face in the above photo: high above this, more signs of climbing
Tiny mountain town, all closed up (somewhere in Gunnison, return trip)
This is the Blue Mesa Reservoir again, on the other side, driving back north.
