things I’ve seen in Washington, DC

Strange brain shaped fruits the size of softballs. Light green and bumpy on the outside, not sure what they look like on the inside.

Many people camping out, Occupying.  Cardboard signs and American flags flapping all around.

Three young republicans taking the bus, trying to keep their suits and briefcases facing away from a nearby homeless man with two rolling suitcases.

A lady standing on a street corner in neon green stilettos and not enough clothes for an October night flagging a cab. A cab pulled up and they talked, then the cab drove away and she suddenly had a wad of cash in one fist.  She put out her hand to wave another cab.

A gaping eye-shaped hole in the roof of an old mansion that was once a home for the blind.

Inconspicuous masonic symbols, in cemeteries and older buildings.

A man in an extravagant blue and white dress, all shining and flapping, with a white painted face and red lips and a giant crown with long pheasant tail feathers sticking out like antennae.  The only “woman” in the Qi Shu Fang Peking Opera Company.

Five thousand iPhones, give or take.

Really good three-piece band (two guys on guitars and a pretty singer) in a crowded coffee shop.  The whole band took up no more than six square feet including instruments, microphone, and mini-amp.

A beautiful white silky wolfhound lying out in the sun in a city park with her owners. She was very sick; today, Saturday, was her last day. She already looked like an angel.
